Nobody dies in decorating. That’s always been my mantra, and I’ve used it often.

Chevalier Design was created to fill a need in the Edmonton area. Many people I spoke with felt that decorators just weren’t listening to them. Each decorator seemed to have his/her own agenda which often did not include the client’s needs or wants.

I believe that a home has to reflect the tastes of the people who live there. Your home is your refuge, your safe haven. I’ve had wonderful, overworked, overstressed clients who have been overwhelmed by the decorating process. And I’ve pulled out the Kleenex box and said, “It’s okay...nobody dies in decorating”. A woman (on the edge) once replied to this, “Maybe, but I have some chest pains!"
